My Building Doesn't Recycle, Chicago, IL

Led a team of developers and other volunteers at Chi Hack Night to create an app that crowdsources resident reports that large apartment buildings in Chicago are NOT providing recycling services. Conducted stakeholder interviews and engaged community partners to develop and validate concepts. Created prototypes and conducted usability testing. Received over 3600 resident reports for 2500 addresses.
⭑ Featured on WBEZ, The Chicago Tribune, and NBC5. Media coverage and number of reports pushed the city to create and enforce an updated recycling ordinance.

Created and tested a prototype for new features of a restaurant deal website. Led and coordinated all aspects usability testing including recruitment of 12 participants, drafting of test plan, management of all test logistics, and facilitation of usability tests.
